Bits & Pieces

26/08/06 - Everton today won 2-0 at The Lane, despite having Kevin Kilbane sent off. An own goal from Calum Davenport gave Everton the iniative before Andy Johnson compounded the misery for the majority inside the stadium.

22/08/06 - Spurs this evening beat Sheffield United 2-0 at WHL with goals from Berbatov and Jenas giving us the 3 points.

19/08/06 - Spurs today lost 2-0 at The Reebok Stadium against Bolton Wanderers. Kevin Davies and Ivan Campo got the goals.

17/08/06 - Andy Reid has left Spurs to join Iain Dowie at Charlton Athletic in a 4 year deal that will be worth around £3 million to the Lily Whites.

14/08/06 - A Spurs Eleven tonight beat Essex side Canvey Island 11-0 in a pre season friendly.

12/08/06 - Well Spurs rounded off the pre season with a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad.Defoe and Dawson the scorers for the Lily Whites.

12/08/06 - Spurs today welcome Spanish side Real Sociedad to the Lane for our final warm up game of the  pre-season.

17/04/06 - Today sees the visit of Manchester United to North London, for an extremely important game. Teemu Tainio and Ledley King look set to miss out for Spurs, while Saha may be missing from the United line up.

15/04/06 - An excellent performance today at Goodison saw us leave Merseyside with the 3 points but only a Robbie Keane penalty to show for our sterling efforts. The game really should have been well out of site before the Toffees started there late aerial ball game, which thankfully was dealt with well enough by Robbo and those around him.

08/04/06 - An important 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Lane today, with Spurs in command for the most part. Paul Stalteri and Carrick were our scorers with Samaras getting a consolation for City. Davidf James played a blinder for the Blues and kept the score down.

01/04/06 - Today sees us visit Newcastle United, the scene of our 1-0 win in August 2004, thanks to an Atouba goal. Full match report here later. Well, a 3-1 defeat in the North East today with Bowyer, Ameobi and Shearer netting for the Barcodes and Keano for us. To compound the misery Dawson saw red on the hour mark and will now miss the next 2 matches.

05/02/06 - A comfortable 3-1 win over Charlton today with Jermain Defoe getting back amongst the goals with a brace. Jermaine Jenas nabbed his 5th of the season. To make matters worse on the injury front  both Teemu Tainio and Aaron Lennon were taken off injured.

01/02/06 - Last nights 1-0 reverse at Fulham has taken the wheels off a bit and its now 4 without a win for Spurs, with three of those defeats. Andy Reid was injured in the first half and with Dawson being sent off Jol will have a selection headache ahead of the Charlton game on Sunday. Another new addition to the squad for Sunday will be Danny Murphy, ironically signed from The Addicks yesterday.

31/0106 - Busy day today with Hossam Ghaly joining from Feyenoord and Michael Brown joining this evenings opponents Fulham. It is also looking likely that Andy Reid will join Wayne Routledge at Pompey.

27/01/06 - Target Nigel De Jong has joined Hamburg, while The Sun says Spurs were unsuccessful  in a bid for Teddy Sheringham. Meanwhile, according to Newsnow, Jonathon Zebina, a Spurs target has stated he would like a switch of clubs in the summer. Finally Mickey Brown is said to be attracting interest from Fulham, the midfielder having already been linked with Man City, Bolton and a return to Sheffield United amongst others.

25/01/06 - Spurs are said to be showing an interest in Dutchman Nigel De Jong. A figure of £1million has been quoted.

18/01/06 - The club today unveiled its new badge, the traditional cockerel standing on an old ball - in my opinion the way a Spurs badge should be.

12/01/06 - Portsmouth today snapped up Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis and Noe Pamarot from Spurs as the transfer window really begins to kick into action. Mendes in particular did well at Spurs but was forced out when the midfield became congested. Davis has been injured since the pre-season and played once this season while Noe only returned to action at the end of the year following a lenghty spell on the sidelines.

10/01/06 - Marek Suchy has been confirmed as having trials at Spurs according to SSN. Manchester City defender David Sommeil has been banned for 3 matches following his "tackle" on Lee-Young Pyo last Wednesday. Harry Redknapp is reportedly targetting 2 Spurs players. Names being banded about are Pamarot, Davis, Brown and Mendes. Perm any 2 from 4 then.

07/01/06 - Looking ahead to thr FA Cup trip to Leicester it is looking likely that Edgar Davids, Andy Reid and Lee young-Pyo will miss the trip to the Walkers Stadium, joining Ledley King on the sidelines.
Remember the game is live on BBC 1.

06/01/06 - Manchester City defender David Sommeil is set to face FA charges after his off the ball lunge  at  Lee Young-Pyo on Wednesday. Referee Alan Wiley missed the incident but after seeing television evidence  FA Chiefs have decided he should stand in front of the panel. Young-Pyo now faces a race against time to be fit for the trip to Leicester on Sunday, while Teemu Tainio will also face a late fitness test. According to teamtalk.com City are lining up a swoop for Mickey Brown with his former club Sheffield United also interested in taking the tenacious midfielder North. Also Spurs are speculated to be in talks with Slavia Prague over one of their youth players joining The Lilywhites.

04/01/06 - An excellent 2-0 win tonight at Man City, with Mido and Keane on the scoresheet. Worryingly  however Lee Young-Pyo had to be stretchered off and Mido limped off late in the game.

03/01/06 - Reserve team left winger Emil Halfredsson has joined Swedish outfit Malmo on loan, whilst speculation mounts elsewhere regarding the future of some current Spurs players. It seems Mendes is almost certainly on his way while Sean Davis may have a future at the club.

02/01/06 - As ever speculation is mounting over who will be coming and going as the transfer window continues. Rumours have suggested moves for Theo Walcott, while the general feeling is that Sean Davis, Pedro Mendes and Stephen Kelly could be on their way out.

31/12/05 - Newcastle were the last side to visit the Lane this year and were also the last to lose, courtesy of goals from Tainio and Mido.

26/11/05 - An important trip to The JJB Stadium saw us see off Wigan 2-1 with an early Robbie Keane goal and a super solo goal from Davids with a quarter of an hour left. Lee McCulloch pulled one back for the Latics at the end and it led to a tense four minutes of stoppage time.

23/11/05 - Tonight the reserves posted a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stevenage with Lee Barnard (2) , Barcham (2) and Andy Reid on the scoresheet.

20/11/05 - A very dissapointing 1-1 draw with West Ham at the Lane today. Mido scored in the 16th minute and that looked to have given us the points until Anton Ferdinand squared the game deep into stoppage time.

17/11/05 - The Youth team were today drawn with Blackburn in the 3rd round of The FA Youth Cup, the tie is away from home and must be played before Saturday 17th December. Also today it was confirmed the derby with London rivals Charlton will now take place on Sunday 5/02/06 with a 1.30pm start to accomodate Sky.

15/11/05 - Today there has been various rumours regarding new contracts for King and Lennon, King apparently turned down an improved deal last week and Lennon is said to be getting an improved contract for  his performances so far..

14/11/05 - Two Spurs games have been moved - Sunderland (A) is now on 12th Feb. K.O 1.30pm and Fulham (A) has been shifted to 31st Jan. K.O. 8pm to accomadate Sky.
